some more info on pulleys, by using the supplied procharger pulleys, everything lines up perfect

gm type 2, again using procharger bracket and pulley, just need to plump it all up, using a cooler on steering system aswell

Update - steering system all plumbed in and working, one small ****le with the pro charger kit, the placement of the tensioner pully on the power steering bracket from procharger is too close to the power steering pulley, so hard to get enough tension on the belt, cos it ends up hitting the power stering pulley, maybe a shorter belt might help, the power steering is working, but belts feel alittle slack

May I ask a few questions?

is it a off the shelf inter cooler? If so which one?

can you please share some pix of the final way you mounted it and plumbing.

I need one for my F1 PC and am in the process of trying to figure out how to do it

thanks

the intercooler is from procharger came with the sbc universal kit, has 3 inch inlets and therefore ive used 3 inch alloy piping, i mounted it to the front tube thing that holds vacuum for lights, welded on 2 L brackets and drilled hole in them and bolted intercooler to them with long bolts, the intercooler will sit tight up againest inner front crash thing and sit againest bottom of rad bottom support frame

i used 135 degree silicone tubes on the intercooler inlets, the top one is tight againest the side light/indicator bulb holder, i drilled new hole for sidelight bulb connector, siting slightly higher in the plastic unit

then the piping goes towards the middle of car, then 90 degree upwards between front sway bar and water pump area, then you can can see from pics

i made a alloy sheet front scoop to help ram air into the intercooler, without that, dont think it would work aswell, due to the 45 degree angle of intercooler, part of the front scoop has to be removed to get it all in there

anymore help needed, let me know

doing research on putting a vortech V3R supercharger in my C3. What version did you use? Any tips?

I seem to recall Corvette Dave giving-up on his 'huffed' Vette for some reason a few years ago (perhaps not too long after his last post on here) - as then editor (and later chairman for a short while) of the UK's Classic Corvette Club (CCCUK) I remember asking Dave (who was based in Scotland) to pen a write-up about his vette for our bi-monthly magazine, Vette News. I have a feeling he might have sold the car due to health issues. I do recall he bought a large number of replacement and aftermarket parts for the car.

Thanks. Sorry to hear about Dave. I got a 82 C3 that I’m heavily modifying but for street use. Picked up a Vortech V3R marine supercharger for cheap. Trying to figure out how to stuff this thing in the vette. Not a lot of room. But will be making all my own brackets since no one makes a kit for C3’s.

What have you done to the motor , compression ratio any mods to crank and rods that's a fair amount of boost for hopefully a beefed up motor .What size motor and timing at wide open .

Skim through post #1 on this thread: LINK.

I discuss many of the challenges of installing a centrifugal supercharger on a C3. Although I installed a ProCharger, some if not many of the same challenges will be present. I originally installed it under the original 1978 hood, although the L-88 is depicted in many pictures.
