Thanks for the clarification. I crudely measured my frame and the centerline of rear holes were 4 foot 1/2 inch by tape measure so that would indicate the 4 foot 1/4 inch width is accurate. I am not sure if that gets the "actual" label on your drawing.

Looking at the plans, the 4 foot 3 and 1/2 inch outer width leads to a four foot 1/2 inch inner width if you use 2x10s that have an actual 1 1/2 inch actual width

So this can lead to the centerline of the holes on the birdcage quite close to the inner edge of dolly frame. If you use 2x3 uprights as I did their actual width is 1 1/2. With 3/4 inch on each side that leads to a inner centerline width of the uprights of 3 foot 11 inches

Because we were doing this with an engine hoist, and the body was not perfectly level, I am sure we didn't get it perfectly centered on the uprights either

For me it was easy to slap on extra upright 2x3s on the existing ones and call it done.
