For a long time i get a drip here and there from it . But a few days ago there was a spot on the floor about 20 inches around , looked under car and i could see it drip .Replaced hoses a few years back . So i went under the car cleaned it off and greased it . Checked the level and added 2 to 3 oz. of fluid . Started the car few times turned the wheels back and forth a few times and it showed it was still full . Been 2 days and there's only 1 very small dot on the floor . Could greasing it have anything to do with it stop leaking ?
Took it on two more runs, yesterday on a bumpy, twisty road . Checked the fluid level this morning still full and not a drop on the ground after almost 5 days and 100 miles .

My original valve has a slow leak but I'm reluctant to replace it as everything I have heard about them says the new one will develop a leak in short order, also.

Once every generation, Chevrolet builds a Corvette that repairs itself. Now we know who got the C3. Just kidding with you.
Don't know what to tell you .Maybe after 145,000 miles it just broke in . Just waiting for it to start leaking again , or maybe it just found a different spot to go but its still full.

Everytime I replace the PS control valve it begins leaking again after a couple years. 5 years ago my latest new value began to leak and I replaced the PS fluid with Lucas PS stop leak and it hasn't leaked since. Normally I don't believe in magic bullets, and yes, I know I'll eventually have to replace the valve, but so far I'm thrilled with the extra 5 years. YMMV

I've used the Lucas stop leak and it worked great. It wasn't for a leaking valve just a leak in the o-ring between the pump and the reservoir. Beats replacing the pump or the reservoir in 100* heat.
Maybe.... the ball in that Zerk fitting was not completely sealed and the fluid leak was from there!! When you greased it, that cleared what was keeping the ball [valve] from sealing, and the leak stopped.
