Hi RR,
The AIM had a dimensioned drawing showing the relationship of the 4 holes to EACH OTHER, but NOT a dimension for the position/location of the holes on the fender.
UPC 11, Sheet A14, Front Fender Emblem & Piercing.

I'd be happy to try to send you some locating dimensions, but getting an accurate measurement may be difficult. I don't know that I'd trust them.

I'm thinking some sort of a template was used on the line in St.Louis.

Regards,
Alan

Have you checked the back sides of the fenders for possible dimples locating where to drill the emblem mounting holes? Moot point if the clip is already installed.

I read and hear that the emblems sit 1 1/2" above the centerline of the fender and centered on the grille.

Hi,
2-1/4" from the lip of the fiberglass to the chrome part of the leg of the g, not to the black background of the script.
Regards,
Alan

Yep..... I get 2 3/16" on my 72.... If you get within a 1/16" you are doing good.

I'll bet no 2 cars have the badge EXACTLY in the same spot. Within 1/32" at best and you couldnt see that w/the eye.IMO these cars were slapped together at best. Just look at the above photos. The black/red cars, the badge is clearly slightly located different.

That dimension will be different on the left and right side, since the "Stingray" script is reversed direction on the opposite side. I'd say the "Stingray centered over the vent grille" is a pretty good description of the horizontal positioning of that script.
