I just acquired a 71 LT-1. Need tires. Are the Goodrich (Coker?) with the white letters any good? What are best for normal driving? I'm in Southern California and won't be driving in snow or rain. How about size? The car has 225-70-15s. Will 215-75-15s fit? I like the white letters for looks but can live without them to have a better tire. The car came without a spare. I'd like to have one.
Thanks

The BF Goodrich T/A radials are a popular choice but the larger 255X60R15's often rub the rear of the front fenders when making hard turns. The slightly smaller 235X60R15's will usually work with no problems.
Hi BR,
Coker has just started production of a new version of their reproduction Firestone RWL tires that are of radial construction.
It comes in sizes appropriate for your 71.
The original tires on your car were F-70-15 in size. The modern equivalent of the would be a 215-70-15 tire.
The 225-70-15 tire is a good choice too. It fills up the wheel arch a bit more but still has the 'era tire' look to it.
You might also check out the Kelsey Goodyear reproduction RWL tires too.
Regards,
Alan
Coker Firestone RWL bias-belted tires. Look very much of the 'era,' but are not great to drive on.
