A couple years ago my wife was looking for a new car. She was considering a Siebring or Mustang convertable. I told her to get what ever she wanted because I was getting real close to getting the Corvette I always wanted. She ended up with a Malibu.
When I brought the Vette home she encouraged me to buy it. Now she tells me all the time she is glad we got it. She loves to go for summer night rides. She won't drive it, but my 21 year old daughter is another story.
My wife calls it "the blue bitch" . She refuses to drive it - it's too load, and she can't figure out the ratchet shifter. And why do the tires squeak [ yea, she said that  ] when it shifts?? what can I say? I guess I'm the only one going to be driving it :D :D she does like riding in it, but thats because she likes speed
Wife likes the vette, but doesn't like me putting so much money on it (not much put in it yet though). She also dislike the fact that the car takes time out of her and kids. That's why the vette is going to be like it is now for a while and after couple of years when kids are little bit older I'm going to do more with the vette...
No she does not hate the vette. She thinks its hers alone sometimes. Tries to tell me when I can and cant drive it. "I" hate it when she does that. Its my blood sweat and tears that make it what it is. I often have to remind her, its ours, not hers. I hate it when she drives it 3 miles to work and lets it bake in the sun all day. But then she tells me not to take it out when its cloudy since it might rain. What a joke!!! Double standard galore. We both love "our" vette. Its not without its conflicts though. What marrige isnt I suppose?
Just went to Hell and back yesterday with 21 other Vettes from '64 to '02. My wife decided that she wants me to sell my vette so SHE can get an Electron Blue Z06. Not that I wouldn't want a Z06, but I'm not going to give up my car, either. She can have a Z06 if I can get a midyear. There's no 'hobby' in a new Vette and besides, what am i going to do with all my specialized tools if I had a new car?!
She loves Vettes, particularly C1s and C5s. She kinda likes the LT-1, but not the color combo (no news here). She also feels I spend more time with it than her...
Well, I thought and previously voted that she didn't care either way. Then yesterday she wants to go to some party that afternoon. So I agree to change my plans for the third time that day saying OK, I'll just pick you up in the Vert. She says she doesn't want me to go to all that trouble  , yada yada. My only reason for wanting to go is driving the vette there, so i just tell her it would make me happy to drive there together in the Vette. She says, "no, I don't want to, it will mess my hair up." :mad what :bs I am now contemplating divorce :jester
I am halfway in the predicament that you are in. She LOVES to drive it. HATES when I work on it, and considering that it has been down for almost a year there has been a whole lot of hating. LOL
