She would like it better if it was 100% restored, required no maintance and could be driven at any time at a moments notice. Sound slike she wants a C5! :D
[QUOTE].... And why do the tires squeak [ yea, she said that  ] when it shifts?? /QUOTE]
I think it may have something to do with a 10:1 compression stroker w/ huge cam & dual carbs. Just my quess. How much power does that put out? You must in the 500 range.
My wife didn't care one way or the other until we went to buy our new house and we found a house that was a little higher thatn what we were pre-qualified for and the bank asked for assets such as paid off cars and stuff and when my wife told them I own a classic Vette they said ok...approved. Now she LOVES it (she still doesn't care for the color, but that will never change).

Hi Zack,
The motor is putting out somewhere in the 400 to 420 hp range. I took a wrong turn - as far as getting the most hp from my motor- when I put the dual quads on and hyd. cam. The same motor with a solid cam ,matched single plain intake and good carb would make an easy 75 more hp. I always wanted to build a motor with dual quads- so I did :D :D besides, once you turn on the happy gas , who cares!! :D
By the way, your car looks good. Rick
Looks like we are in the same boat. My wife hates it so much I came home today and it had a for sale sign on it. I think what up set her was the hat I brought home for her yesterday reads "Real women drive corvettes
Interesting.....do you think the manifold is the weak link? It was either Hot Rod or Car Craft took GM's HT383 crate motor and with new cam (XE282 or XE272), intake (Performer RPM) and carb and got something like 460 HP and 500 TQ, compression was under 10:1 if I recall.
Trust me, my vette looks better from 10 feet away! Plus, in the picture it was a real sunny day so the un-uniform paint color look uniform. The interior is being ripped out this winter. :D Is your 69 lowered in the front? Those rear wheels look very tall.
well, the intake and carbs are without a doubt hurting my power. Do you remember what month HotRod it was in ?? More importantly, where did the motor make its power? all to often the power is un-useable unless you run it up to 7500 rpm.
no, the front of the car is not lowered. the fronts are 255-60-15 and the rear tires are 275-60-15 I think they are about 26" tall. still no match for my 4:10 rear gears :D :D first gear is always a fun smoke show :D Rick My car looks real good at 50 foot or 50 mph
