So the problem doesn’t seem as bad as it was, but today I took it out on the freeway and it seems like it’s running rough and misfiring at high speeds, right around 3,000-3,500 rpms. I still see little jumps in the tachometer every now and then driving at low speeds too. Any ideas?

since you replaced the ICM next would be the mag pickup that replaces points.
or,,,, the voltage to the ICM is wrong-bad-or unstable.
test the parts, autozone has the equipment.
verify the proper voltage to the dist.

I brought it on the freeway today and it runs good all the way til when I’m cruising at about 3,000-3,500 rpms and then it starts to misfire, tachometer slightly jumps, and seems like an occasional backfire As well. At about 3,000-3,500 rpms the engine even sounds like it changes sound to a bit of a lower rumble. I put a new vacuum advance on the distributor and that didn’t change anything.

iv changed:
ignition control module
ignition coil
vacuum advance

Any advice??

I wonder if it could be a clogged fuel filter preventing the the engine from recieving enough gas to go past 3500 rpms
