Default Actuator Relay Mount?

I have a 1980 Corvette and I am attempting to get the pop up headlights working again with new actuators, Actuator relays and hoses - my question is I see no bracket or "home" for the actuator relays in the nose of the car - they are just dangling in front of the radiator only attached to vacuum hoses, I have been under the car and bent over backwards to find where they mount and have found nothing - not even a spot to add a mounting bracket - what am I missing? does anyone have photos of the actuators installed?

Hi p74,
Perhaps the sheet from the AIM might help too.
Regards,
Alan

IF you find the four holes where the hex headed 10-24 machine screws go that hold the actuator relays in place. HOPEFULLY these bolts are not broken off inside these four holes....which is quite common.

GM welded on nuts to the inside of the beam where the relays mount...AND if these screws broke off. be careful if you plan on trying to drill new holes and sue sheet metal screws. Not saying that you can not do it...just be careful.

Just saying.

this is the best pic I have that shows one mounted , I was in the middle of removing the original bar due to rust . Now normally its bracket is not bent around like that , there was another one on the other side . this is from a 77 which is the same for an 80

Almost neighbors. I head up that way on rare occasion (Mooresville)...but with the I-77 construction...finding the right time to head that way is critical for me due to I can not handle being stuck on the interstate for hours.

If you need help...just post it.
