FYI. The ferrule goes on the tachometer end.

I did, but not to the extreme that your document shows. I may just do that though.

That's what I did , gave the cable a much cleaner straight route , it does seem odd , but it works ,
But I never moved the wires on the cap .

ZIP sent to me backwards then. Probably explains why it doesnt work and now I have to get under the dash again.

So I pulled off the crimped on housing end at the distributor and removed about 5/8" of casing. Reinstalled the housing and wala! Tach works. Probably have to do the same with my speedo cable now.

The replacement housings are longer than original housings. I searched a while for an original in good condition.
