Hey Greg,

I hope this message finds you well. I have a follow-up question as I'm finally getting to this upgrade. I did a test with one bulb and it did not light up. Upon further investigation, I discovered that the 5A fuse had blown. My question is whether upgrading to LEDs might pose any issues with electric draw, considering the power output to the lights is only 5 amps. I'm not an electrician, but I'm curious if replacing the bulbs with new LEDs could potentially cause problems such as heat or other concerns.

Any insights you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards

Hi Neil,
No worries, just the opposite in fact. The LED's draw much less amperage so also much less heat generated.

I know this is an old thread, but I just want to give it a plug and thank Greg for posting and sharing his upgrade.
I’ll be doing this bulb upgrade to my 73.
This was a big help.
Thanks to everyone who shared.
