your not going to get around the track worth a **** with pizza cutter tires
you need a big fat print up front as well..
Had 265/50 up front for awhile til I decided to change it up. All I could tuck under the wells as its lowered a few inches
Ill get bored and change it back eventually
both US Shift & Compu Shift have GM 6 spd support "coming soon". US Shift does work on the Ford 6R80 which does you no good, but at least they are making progress for hot rodders. So a factory computer is the only option until who knows when.
I have a 6L80 with an LS3 in my 73 vette. It does shift early at part throttle but you can set it to shift when ever you want with HP Tuners, I increased mine 4 mph in the first three gears and its better, might increase a little more. I can't do WOT from a stop there is no traction, getting drag radials this spring.
Are you using an LS computer or is there some standalone system for the trans? I dont know much about that stuff but curious.
A nice converter with lockup, deep gears I think would be killer and put some fun back in the auto .I plan on keeping the 6 spd for awhile but may just swap an auto later on if I put this one back to DD status .
ALl the yrs this ones sat around what a waste. Gotta use them up thats what they are for

Im sure with Drs they would spin bad but thats ok. The T350 was boring and dont like the gear spread in the 700r the way this ones cammed.
If you have an engine with a wide power band, you don't need a 6 or 8 speed transmission. But, newer engines, which only make BIG power in the upper RPM range, require that many trans ranges to keep the power up. Sticking a 6-8 speed auto behind an 'old school' C3 engine is mostly a waste of money. You might be able to brag to your friends about having that trans in your car: but if you couldn't beat 'em before, you still won't get 'em with that new tranny.
Engine and trans came from a 2011 Camaro. Originaly an L99 conveted to LS3. Useing original computors, engine and trans with a PSI conversion harness Street and dyno tuned using HP tuners.
not an old C3 but an old school chevy same thing, lotsa carbed guys so I hang out here.
Peaky powerband, with gears/converter and a controller I think it could work.
Took it out for awhile last night, going to change shifters first. Love the manual and direct power but the sometimes notchy sometimes not is driving me up the fn wall.

GM's putting a 10 speed behind the new direct injection V8's which have a very wide power band. Have you looked at the torque curve for the 6.2L pickup engines? They have a very impressive wide flat torque curve.
I have a 383 in my 77auto.with a .336 gear in the back. I have a 350th trans that's built with the heavy duty cluches, shift kit and 3500 stall. At 70 MPH, my tack is right on 3000 rpms. I burning gas like there's no tomorrow. So it seems like I could really need a six speed auto. ??
Does anyone have any links they can share of the installation process and anything else that could be beneficially to doing the 6 speed automatic behind an LS or better yet an LY6.
