Will be anxious to see this. Is it stock?

I'll ditto that for the somewhat dissappointing flow & HP numbers I got from my 074 aluminum heads. Too much volume, too little flow, way too little velocity. For the street anyway. Oval ports seem to make more power on the street.

Oh well...Live and learn...

Default Annular discharge carb

I was wondering what people are running on their LS6 cars? I currently have a quick fuel 780vs that is running fairly well. As stated before it is a CE LS6 with a HR cam 617/589 229/241 109 10:00 compression ported 074 heads max flow 625@.600 lift. I am thinking of a custom annular discharge 880/850 vs carb. Car has 200r4 3.08 rear. I cruise @ 1950 @ 70 mph. I think it would be more responsive and better MPG. Any thoughts?
Thanks

What is the operating range of that cam?
Seems like to much cam for your Hwy cruising speed.
I believe you want your Hwy cruising rpm’s within the operating range of the cam.
For Example: The operating range of my roller cam is 2000-6000 rpm’s.
With my 5 speed trans and a .82 5th gear matched with my 3.08 rear differential gears, my Hwy cruising rpm’s @ 70 mph will be approximately 2181 rpm.
Just within the power range of the cam shaft.

The cam operating range is about the same 2200-6000 peak carry HP to 6500. I wanted to try the annular discharge carb to enhance the driveablity at low and cruise RPM but still make HP on the top end.

That cam may not like the 1950 cruising rpm on the highway.

It does great! I just clocked 18.5 @75. Very responsive across the whole rpm range.

Annular carbs , in theory, are best used on cold intakes. IE..Air-gap dualplanes and race single planes. If the intake floor gets heat or hot oil splash on it then you will create vaporized fuel which will reduce performance. Look for a carb to borrow and try before buying your own. $.02
