Splitters?
Forum: I was just looking at the 48 Hour Vette.
Their front splitter is perfect!
Anyone know where to find one?
Or is it a custom piece?
TIA

c3’s are bottom breathers, will that splitter do anything other than jam more air into the radiator?
All above is my opinion as an interested enthusiast only... But I have been looking into the idea myself and have done a lot of reading. Would be most effective if paired with a bonnet vent extracting air from the radiator in my opinion.

Reduced effectiveness, due to the high pressure being both below (nose) and above (splitter) a surface but the upper surface has openings in it and flow through it, so shouldn't cancel the downwards pressure on the splitter. You also should still generate a low pressure area under the splitter, so yes, it should still work to some degree. And yes, you'll also push more air through the radiator.

I think that would render a splitter like the above design, that sits under the nose, almost worthless as it would have near equal pressure upwards on the underside of the nose as downwards on the splitter. For a splitter design that sits under the nose, I think the opposite would be more beneficial - close the front vents, increase the size of the bottom vents as much as possible and add extraction vents in the hood - all the air to the radiator is coming from above the splitter so the upwards pressure on the underside of the nose is reduced as that air is flowing up through the holes and the radiator rather than just bearing upwards on the solid underside of the nose. Of course the high pressure above the splitter is likely to be reduced somewhat too. I think simplifying all this is why many race cars have a front air dam level (or close to) with the front of the car, eliminating the pocket of air under the nose and the bottom feed holes (or feeding them from the front air dam) - effectively turning them into nose feeders as you suggest.

Here’s what I put on my car since the diffuser was completely missing. I got the stock chin spoiler plus the L88 extension.

Cow Catcher?
If I can't get a proper splitter.
That leaves me back to the old Cow Catcher that was used on the Le Mans C3.
Primitive as it was, I believe they did well over 200 mph!
I'm guessing there were some other aero aids being used as well?
That and a whole lot of HP! lol

Stock 1975 spoiler with the 1979 only L-82 extension. Works great to keep my 496 cool.

The splitter you are asking about on the 48 hour corvette shown was built for that car by one of the companies that worked on it. They made a mold of it and sell the splitter.
