Which carburetor gasket

Which gasket should I use on my Quadrajet? The original one that I took off appears to be like the one on the right but I read that those gaskets can block off vacuum passages in the carb body.

That would depend on which carburetor (Part Number) and which engine? You should put that info, the above photo and a photo of the underside of your carb in an e-mail and send it to Lars Grimsrud at V8FastCars@msn.com and ask him your questions.

Nonsense - there are no vacuum passages that get blocked off by the base gasket. You don't state the year of your car or engine, but if you have a 1970 - 1981, use the 1/4" thick open-plenum gasket on the right. If you have a 1967 - 1969, a special 3-gasket "kit" is required to seal the exhaust groove crossover, and neither one of the gaskets shown would be correct.

Car is a 1975 L48. I'll use the open plenum gasket.
