When you did your research, two pages must have been stuck together.

(no springs on Vac Adv)

I meant the mechanical advance like on the weights in the top of the distributor. Sorry

Looking back at post # 5, you stated you removed the Vac advance arms and cleaned them, as in plural. This tells me you are not familiar with the Vac Adv arm. There is only one and its attached to the Vac Adv canister. You also stated the arms moved freely. The Vac Adv arm can not be moved easily or freely.
I think you were cleaning the MECHANICAL weights, and yes those do move freely. The springs on those are color coded to indicate their strength or weakness regarding the RPM at which they allow full mechanical advance.

Earlier we talked about the Vacuum canister. Two different timing components, two different timing events.

Email @lars for his timing and distribution setup papers. (There are lots of threads with his address). Read them. Sleep on it. Read them again. Fully grok them, then apply your knowledge.

You've gotten some terrific advice on this thread, but a but a bit of big picture and jargon understanding will help us help you much faster.

And pictures!

Hook a vacuum gauge up and see if it bounces at idle after it is warm.......if it does, you have a carb base gasket leak or intake manifold leak......both of these can rear their head when warm and not cold.....
Verify a steady needle.......do this first, then go to the timing via Lars papers..........set idle mixture with a vacuum gauge as well.....
You'll get it.........
