Jebby is correct, I did get hung up on the front stamping number. The main reason for getting hung up by that stamping is that I wanted to be sure of compatibility with my car.
I personally am not well versed with what each number means. Unfortunately, I also have past experience of removing and reinstalling parts multiple times because of non compatible items.
For the question about condensation or milkshake making, I believe that it is simply condensation.
I bought a 350 once for a boat. Guy said head gaskets. 100 bucks for the motor. I did head gaskets. They were fine. I shoulda pulled the pan and checked-replaced the bearings. So should you. Heads too. This may be orig unrebuilt L82 with forged pistons, crank and 4 bolt mains. Most .040 over motors are mass-produced rebuilds. Jasper etc. Find out what you got...
New to posting anything so I apologize in advance if I post something wrong.. I have a 1979 Corvette I bought about 10 years ago and thought it had a sb 350 in it but after a little research not sure what I have now. Vin# 1Z8789S449392 and the #'s on the block are (front) K0522FB and (back) 3956618...retired vet now so thought I'd finally mess around with it...It does run but needs tuneup and exhaust....Thanks in advance..
