Default Mystery wire?

Anyone know what this red/black wire goes to? I know the blue/black is the door ajar switch. It is coming out of the rear wire harness.

sorry. 69 coupe. No factory alarm. Wouldn’t there be a key hole in the rear for that?

according to this, should not be there...and on closer inspection those wires are attached to one another, so probably looks like someone's old speaker wire.

On my 68, the red and black wires go to the middle compartment light. The wires on mine come out of the rear harness at the same location as your 69.

From the 69 AIM. View A shows the compartment light and connectors. The wiring schematic shows the wires as being black and red.
