C3 (75 Coupe) steering question.
"BUT" as any good Corvette Person will attest.... "You can't just have ONE!"
Needless to say, after a NIGHTMARE with a 72 coupe with a disaster of a birdcage, I came back for more.
I now own a 75 coupe and another 72 coupe.
Working on the 75 at the moment, Engine and transmission pulled, repaired front suspension the P.O. messed up.
While I've got it all 'empty' in the engine compartment, I'm doing the "Beautiful" stuff.
And repairing many wiring issues with the harness disconnected from the firewall at the moment.
And I've come to that FAMOUS decision point. Borgesen steering box with bracket? Or, as I've lost the post with the information I'm looking for...
Some people posted that they'd installed (I think) Jeep Cherokee steering boxes with success.
Anyone have any idea?
IF you determine that your steering box needs work, GTR1999 is a great source of repair and/or adjustment.
P.S. The Borgeson box will do nothing better than the stock box...if properly built and adjusted; unless you wish to convert a manual steering car to a power steering car. Even then, there are less expensive fixes than installing the Borgeson (Jeep) steering box. Just sayin....
