I'll let qualified personnel install relays (I've screwed up enough stuff already). If it was a simple matter of installing something inline to existing wire I'd have tried it.
I put my dimmer switch inside an anti-static bag, and tucked the whole thing underneath the carpet.
Out of sight, out of mind!

Quick update. I noticed this morning (heavy fog) that my headlight dash switch seems to be working as expected now. It lit up when I turned on my lights and as soon as they were fully open, it went back off. Tried it a second time when I got to work. Not a fluke, goes out when fully open now.

While I was helping you figure out your headlights I decided to verify why my dash headlight indicator wasn't working, but it appears that I either have a burned out bulb, or a previous owner took out the bulb (and I'm not tearing into the console just for that!). My indicator switches at the headlights are broken also, so just not worth it...

Never a victory without a defeat.
My courtesy lights no longer come on. I checked the wire going to the drivers side door and it looks like I crimped it when I put my kickplate back on, so I spliced it back together but they're still not working.
