Default Muncie Interlock Cable Length

I'm confused of what LENGTH the Steering Interlock Cable should be on this '73 SBC.
It's a pre-70s M20 (no TCS switch) that I have to replace the TH400. Just wanna be sure I buy the right length cable, as there are various lengths listed for the same year 4-speed car. If anyone has one loose to measure (or sell ) that's a known fit, please advise me.
It's very much appreciated. Thank you.

Set your shifter up to short throw buy adjusting the rods to the holes in the trans levers closer to the pivot point.
Put indexing tool in shifter

Adjust using AIM instructions This picture shows the interlock or backdrive cable as they call it.

Adjustment to the holes mentioned.

Scan of my original owners manual talking about short throw .

I have it setup this way in my '71 and it's a lot better than stock.

Zip and Wilcox both only show one Steering Column Interlock Cable for the 69-75(76) w/4-spd equipped cars. I believe they call it a 31" cable.
OE GM PART #: 3949074

ZIP - https://www.zip-corvette.com/69-75-w...MaAuUuEALw_wcB
Wilcox - https://willcoxcorvette.com/corvette...eed-69-76-repl

Good luck... GUSTO

The Assembly Instructions Manual. You can find it from most vendors.
The AIM is the instructions the factory used to do final assembly. My go-to book.

The Willcox link you posted is the one I purchased, now it's discontinued. It didn't last very long, glad they stopped selling it.
Be sure to purchase the correct type with the wrapped steel case, not the black plastic coated.
