I want to lower the front end of my '68 and possibly the rear end. To me the stance is not aggressive enough.

Any recommendations on a shop in Phoenix who could do this with a high quality result? Thanks in advance.

Good luck, typically this is something you'd want to do yourself. Then, at least you won't have paid for the labor for a screwed up job.

Lowering the rear is super easy. The front, well, not so much. If you insist on having someone do it for you. Have them cut one coil off the front springs. If that's to low you can add coil spring spacers. If you try a half coil the springs won't sit in the pockets properly.
Can't imagine why you would let someone else work on your car. They don't love it like you do!

How do you lower the rear?

I'm changing the rear spring to a composite spring. Will that lower it any?
Longer bolts would put less tension on the spring, correct?
Anyone have a link to the longer bolts?
If you are changing the tension on the spring, does that change the ride and handling?
Does this effect the alignment?

Composite may raise it.
The longer bolts have no effect on spring tension.
Changing the spring or bolts will probably effect rear camber requiring alignment.

actually using longer bolts will lower the car height but it also affects the half shaft angle to the road.
Meaning, too much drop places half shafts at
an angle that places stress.

My desire is to lower about 1/2" to 1".
I will have an alignment done after I get things changed.

Got the coil overs in the front, waiting to get the radiator back in the car before I can set the ride height. I put a set of 8 inch spring bolts in the rear and it needs to come down a bit more. I've got a set of 10 inch bolts I'll change once I do the shocks in the rear. I'd like an inch between the fender/tire then set the rear to match the front. To get the car this low I had to use a set of offset A-arm shafts to get the alignment within spec. To get the A-arms off the radiator had to come out of the car, this project kinda snowballed. Did I mention this cars got 12,000 original miles?

Well the ride is definitely got to soften up,have no idea on handing. Having a lowered car comes with some compromises but I wouldn't have it any other way.
