Well, that's one way to get the job done. Just stay aware that you have a single piece of tape between satisfactory operation and a dead-short to ground which can cause a wire insulation fire under your dash......

I noticed that too. At least we know the fuse has worked in the past!
The cheap 921 sockets I posted above are 2-wire, plastic, and likely to be a similar size. If you swap over to the appropriate 921 LED bulbs, you'll get a LOT more light, and have a much reduced danger of fire. If they fit, which they probably would with some JB Weld. Or perhaps you can find a similar Dorman product with 2-wires at a different Autozone.
Break out your soldering gun and shrink wrap.
