Default Radial T/A date code?

The talk on here about old tires has me wondering about the T/A's that came on my '71.
Went to look, but I can't find any number sequence that begins with "DOT", nor anything in a raised oval.
Would it be on the inside sidewall? I'm looking at the outside, with the white letters.

Yes, the date code will be in a small oval embossed on the inside sidewall in 4 numbers to represent the week and year of manufacture..I.E. a January 5 2021 built tire will have code 0121 in the oval.

Looks like pre-2000, last number is "0"...2000 or 1990?

New tires time if ~20+ years for sure. Mine were 18 years old when replaced and it was like getting a new suspension. The ride improved that much!

FYI....the newer BFG's have the date code imprinted on the raised white letter side. Mine says 2 0 1 8 = 20th week of 2018.

Looks like mine are from 2004. It was hard to tell, they look like they came off the tire rack yesterday. I’ll be tire shopping over the winter, I guess.

Yes, a new tire is cheaper than a quarter panel!
