Most will recommend your unit be sent to our forum Q-Jet expert Lars.......
Snap some photos of different angles of the carb and Lars can tell you a lot about it.......just from looking at it.
The pt# comes back as a 75-on Carb for Chevrolet so it may be the original unit.
Do NOT buy commercially offered rebuilds......your original core is the best core.

You will not be disappointed with the work that Lars performs. The money you spend will be the best investment on ensuring that your quadrajet is operating like Chevrolet intended it to. He is a true expert in every sense of the word.

Actually, it's an 800 cfm high performance '75 Vette carb. Very desirable unit if it hasn't been hacked...

If your carb is original to the car (and it sounds like it is) and it hasn't been "rebult" previously, you have a "diamond in the rough". You will not find a better carb than what you already have for your car. If Lars will rebuild it, have him do it. No one will do a better job.
