Default ? about intermittent wiper module

For a 1980, my wipers only have one speed and hear the clicking relay in the back. I know this is the fix but is the washer pump controlled through this? It's not operating ...https://www.lectriclimited.com/inter...r-module-86267

Well, yes it goes through the module so the when the washer motor starts the wipers start also and have a timed run, when the washger stops pumping the wipers will swipe a few times to get rid of the excess...

Couple things, take the controller out and check for cold or bad solder joints. I went through this with mine, they stopped working right after I used the 12V feed for the wiper motor for my Holley (by god) electric choke.. So I assumed I shorted something out and I went through a bunch of testing and a module. So over a drink a friend said, got any contact cleaner...BINGO...sprayed the switch out and all is well... Give it a try, those modules have gone way up...

I vaguely remember this thing going bad on my other 80 many years ago. Everything is going way up along with the price of these cars. This car I just bought has a list of small little issues I'm fixing but I feel I got a fantastic deal.

How do I get to the screws? Remove carpet? They come from the other side.

Nevermind , Remove the outer compartment door trim and pull carpet back to expose bolts.

Got this thing apart, don't see any obvious burns or broken solder joints. What usually fails on these ? Is there a way to get 2 speeds and the washer pump operational ?
