It it dies out even when you get it close to the front of the carb. It seems to happen when you get close to the front of the carb even with your hand it dies out. it seems to be corrected to some degree when you change the timing, but beyond my experience as to why, I have never seen anything like it?

Well....other than coincidence.....what you are describing is impossible. Something else is causing it to stall.....and it seems like it does it when you put something near it......

Like the 750 HP Holley Alky carb that changed idle when I put the air cleaner and stud on it? LSS, the threaded hole for the stud lead directly into the base plate and open manifold vacuum. Only found that when I saw a “whisp of condensation” drifted from the stud hole at a random shut off with the hood open in the garage.
When it stops raining here I will attempt a video, and I would have called it impossible myself until I experienced it. This is a new Q-jet carb (about a year old) and worked fine until recently. The gasket is solid, it was never "upgraded", I know as I am the only one who has ever worked on this car over the past 50 years.

There is no such thing as a "new Q-Jet carb." You're saying you have a hacked, "remanufactured" carb that has a bunch of problems.... that's a real can of worms.

This isn't a 750HP Alky carb....this is a plain old Q-Jet......not going to happen here.

Video of the 'event' would be excessively helpful for the troubleshooting process. Please post it when you get the time.

There are lots of videos on YouTube showing how the Theremin touch-free ignition system works. That's still my hypothesis, until the OP posts something to contradict that.
A solar powered carburetor is also a possibility (OP is casting a shadow, which causes the carb to glitch). Hopefully the rain stops soon. C3s can only be driven on sunny days, so it is unlikely that any of us would notice if we had a solar Q-Jet installed (M4MSe) .
