yeah, thanks, I will get a float as indeed it did not look that great though is was floating all right. Yes, crazy what people can tell you to sell you a corvette... the VIN says L48 automatic, the seller tells you it's a rebuilt LT1, and it does have a 4-speed shifter... In any case, out of all the ones I had test-driven at the time, including one I remember from some Hollywood exec trying to convince me while driving on Sunset Blvd that I would be just fine going "1-2-Drive" on his automatic to "simulate" a manual transmission, that one just had so much more kick and the manual transmission I wanted that I went for it despite the non-original setup. Glad I did, it's a really great car and it's the first time after 30 years that I have had to open up that carb.

NAPA part number for the correct float is 2-442.
Delete the "dash" if searching or ordering on-line through NAPA.
