Default 1972 Corvette starter numbers ?

I have a 1108427 starter with date code 1J9 - making it an early 1972 model year part.
What vehicle application would this be for ?
Thank you,
Jerry

Graymarine Diesel Model Four-D-129 used starter Delco-Remy Model 1108247. I'll bet you can find a dozen other engines and manufacturers that also used it, including 1972 Studebaker Avanti II.

Lars Gray Dort might have been a more desirable application LOL

Well, whatever it is, the NCRS specs guide says 1108247 wasn't installed in a '72 Corvette.
Could you have transposed numbers and it's 1108427? That was used in '69 350/automatic Corvettes. Nothing else is close.

Well, darn. Here I have a customer on the hook wanting to buy that Graymarine diesel starter for his 1972 Four-D-129 boat engine. He's trying to make it all "numbers" for the Top Flight Boat Judging event...

Skimming the GM parts books, it appears the starter was used on a number of different car lines from 1970-1978. Here is a listing for the armature for it:
