Rattling from bell housing area. Just rebuilt the Muncie and installed it. It was making this noise before I rebuilt it and I thought it was the transmission. Now it's getting worse.

Noise from the bellhousing area has nothing to do with the transmission. That's a clutch/pressure plate/throwout bearing/pilot bearing/clutch fork problem. Disassemble it and inspect it. Replace the bad parts.
Hmmm.... 1.) Doesn't know better; 2.) It worked before; 3.) Needed to save money.
When you change that bearing, make sure that there is some "free play" in the clutch pedal. Having constant pressure on that bearing [even if its light pressure] is a major cause of early failure.
