Sounds like great news for the residents of California though. I wonder if other states that do emissions testing will follow suit.
Funny how other states behave. Before I sprung for the '84 I asked my local inspection station what standards the car has to meet, and I get "Safety only."
Well, knock me over with a hydrocarbon fume. No emissions on a passenger car of that vintage. My 1985 diesel pickup truck still has to pass a puff test, but a gasser of the same vintage is a free-for-all.
Coming from this state, where they're pushing the green agenda down your throat, and up your @$$ until they meet in the middle, I don't even know what to say
