Tires
Ladies and Gents, I’m running 225/70r15 right now and getting new ones soon. I want wider tires without altering the profile. How big can I go on an 15x8 rally wheel without spacers or rubbing issues.

255/60s will fit all around most of the time but can be close up front to the front fender opening depending on your year... I use Discount Tire and they will mount 1 255/60 for me to take home and test fit in the front... my most recent 70 they just barely rubbed up front and I needed to go 245/60s
Perhaps see if your tire shop will mount one to test fit up front

Hello BB69,
If your 69 is a bb the clearance issue might be at the front because of a little more weight on the front suspension.
255/60/15 on a sb car.
Regards......

Alan, Thanks. The car is sitting 29 inches from floor to top of fender well. Won`t a 60 series drop the car and increase the fender well gap. ?

225 x .70 = 157.5mm sidewall
255 x .60 = 153mm sidewall
4.5mm sidewall profile less

I''m running 255's too, and really like them. Be aware that, on mine, it makes getting the clips on the rings REALLY difficult at times. Best, Paul

Will an F-41 suspension alter the recommendation?

Not at all. We have F41 on our '68 L71 and there is nothing to consider there IMO. Best, Paul

which year? Early C3s can have issues with rubbing.
