i'm kinda partial to the stingrays since my grandpa owns a 1969 stingray, but i'm open to suggestions. thank you. :chevy
May I suggest that you be REAL nice to your Grandpa, and one day you may own a '69 Stingray. And remember:
Corvette = :thumbs:
rice = :nonod:
Welcome vettekid!
Welcome. Get grampa excited to get the vette running again. Help him as
much as possible, and someday it will be yours. In the meantime, sit, read,
learn, and gather up enough knowledge to spot a decent Stingray before
even driving it.
What is what - in your last post ?
Rice - typically referring to Japanese performance imports. But - also applies
to sticker-laden Cavaliers and similar vehicles. Easily noted by the neon light
bars, performance stickers, and big tailpipe. Don't be fooled - the engine is
still less displacement than a Pepsi bottle. Fast and Furious: all rice.
:seeya
do you know if there is a thread for complete idiots, cause i don't really understand alot of the stuff you guys are talking about. i am now ashamed to call myself thevettekid
Don't be ashamed and hang in there. Most of the guys in here probably owned a "rod" when they were kids (edit: young men) :D and we all learned as we went. I agree with the others, if your G'Pa knows his vette, stay close and learn; you may be driving it SOONER (couldn't resit/OU alum) than you think.
ALL SMART OKIES GO TO OU.
WHAT'S THE FIRST THING A TU CHEERLEADER DOES IN THE MORNING?
"WALK HOME!" :lol:
Welcome to the Forum the vettekid16. Now repeat after me..." You're me favourite Grandpa....You're my favourite Grandpa....hehehe....Can't Hurt..You'll learn lots from these people..Keep reading and asking questions.
:thumbs: :steering:
wow, you're an OU alumni? you are now one of my best friends. i work at a mazzios and most of the management is from OSU, so we have a joke about the best an OSU grad. could do was manage a mazzios.... but anyways thanks for not making me feel like a total idiot. i appreciate it. :chevy
Welcome, sit back and enjoy. Like the guys say, grap a spanner & Granpar and take them both out to the shed and get swinging.
Best of luck.

One thing you have to consider is the insurance. I moved here from Florida in June. In Florida, full coverage for my '79 Vette and '92 Camaro cost me $56 a month. When I moved to OKC my insurance doubled. I'm 32 years old with a spotless record. Insurance here is ridiculous.
Hey man I know how you feel I was only 15 when my brother (VolVette) got enough money to buy a Corvette, much like you we both hated ricers, but finally my brother got a C3 Vette and we have loved it ever since. I've learned more on here in 3 years then all of grade school. I didn't understand any of the lingo when I first read the posts but not I pretty much understand it all. I'm working on getting my own C3 Vette and when I do get it I'll be well prepared for it thanks to all the posts I've read on here. My best advice to you is to come on the forum and pec through posts that interest you and you'll learn a lot. I know I have. But other than that Welcome.
