Marcus, good write up. Did the rubber make the ride quieter on your car? This would make for a nicer ride in mine too.

I have the "hook type" and didn't have any problems. I placed a 2X4 between the straps so it took the sideload off the doors. I also used a strap on the nose at the same time.

Unless your body reinforcements are all rotted (rocker channels/door pillars/
windshield frame), the body lift with hooks is fine. If the birdcage is all rotted
to hell, then slinging a nylon strap under the car can work - but it's no picnic.,
