The springs according to my Comp Cams book are 110 pounds on the seat and 285 open load. They are 981-16 Comp Cams parts no. You could have saved some money by not getting a gear drive for the cam and with that cam roller rockers are not needed. If you already have them it is not going to hurt anything.

James

Get a roller timing set. Roller rockers are not needed, get roller tip. Stock springs are fine for 1.52.
You should state trans. & rear gears & whether you are doing a complete rebuild.

That all sounds pretty good to me. I also agree that a gear drive is pretty much overkill. Especially for a street engine (and many race engines). You will like the 268. It is a great cam. It sounds nice and makes good power.

Gear drives are very noisy and get old real quick on the street, unless you happen to like the whining.

I actually like the whine, have you had one and if so does it make and difference in the preformance? :steering:

Thanks for the advice, but it looks like the cost would be more, is there that much of a difference in preformance?
