I'm trying to get my dash out, I disconnected as many vaccum hoses as I could find, the light 'switch' another funky electrical harness, speedo/tach cables and even the steering column bolts and the damn thing wont budge. this is as far as I got..

Re: STUCK! help needed.. (Corz)
Boy you really made a mess this time. I can't help you with the dash. Removing the dash on my Vette is a recurring nightmare I keep getting. :lolg:
Do you have the three bolts loose from the steering column up near the support bracket? If so, you may have to loosen the bolts at the floorboard so that the column can drop down a bit. I had the column completely out when I removed my dash pannel and it came right out. Your column definitely is not lowered enough for that panel to come out.
Corz, I know this sounds like more work than necessary but I have never had much luck taking out the driver side dash without removing the top dash and lowering the steering column. To get the top dash out you have to remove the top and both windshield post trim pieces as well as the passenger side dash. Be carefull to remove all the screws from the top of the center console bezel and the brackets on the underside of the top dash..... it is very fragile. pretty sure you need to remove the plastic side kick panels as well to get the driver and passenger dash out.
After you have the top dash out you will be able to get to the most of the back of the driver side dash from either the top or the bottom. take your time and everything should be pretty obvious. The dash is held pretty tight by the tach and speedometer cables.
This is probably my most "not fun" thing I have done on my C3's
Good luck, and don't hesitate to ask more questions.... is this your first time in the dash?
You have to drop the steering column down in your lap as you sit there at the wheel. Loosen the bolts under the column and at the firewall. Disconnect the speedo and tach ,vacum lines, dash lamps, and slowly pull forward and out.
I'll be working on my S10 around 1-2:00 tommorow if you want to see my 69 with the dash out.

Why does your pix look familiar? I have my '71 stripped to the firewall. You will have to pry the wire harness, witch is held by soft metal clamps, away from your drivers panel, pull out all the panel lights, then pull the panel towards you and up. Mark your pneumatic lines and elect cons. that aren't odvious. The bulbs are color coded. This is the second time I have done this.
Just checked that blocked hose on mine. It goes to one of the over ride switches under the speedo/ tach panel you removed. The small one to the right. I think it for the wiper door manual over ride but don't remember.
well if you mounted them upside down then atleast they woudl be in the order of a normal car.
I remember when i first got my 76 and kept looking at the wrogn gauge cause all the other cars id had were the opposite
