I just got my Vette this summer and my wife has no interest in driving it. My 17-year-old blonde (and cute) daughter, however, talked me in to letting her drive it to high school on the first day, which is today. I just can't say no to her. She called me at lunch to tell me all is well, but I am one nervous Papa.
You bet, but not often because it has manual steering
I told her I would re-fit the power steering (one of the few things it came with that was missing when I bought it), but it's taking forever, know what I mean?
This used to be my mom's car and she needed two cushions to drive it properly (4'10" ) . She likes the creature comforts so it came with everything, PS PW PB AC auto. She's since traded up to a C5
My girlfriend drove it once and doesn't really have interest in driving it. Poor visibility, play in steering wheel, yadda yadda yadda. What surprises me is she is disappointed it's not manual (she's the one teaching me to drive stick ) I think she likes riding in it, but she does complain it's awfully loud. She does feel amazingly cool in it though.
My wife has driven our '87 Conv since new and also the '73 Conv 4 Spd before it went into "restoration" a couple of years ago. Her sister is even more of a Corvette person with both '95 and '98 Pace Cars. The '95 has about 40,000 miles and the '98 over 85,000 miles. Both are NCM Life Members (with their husbands also).
Some women like Corvettes for more than looks.

I got a call at work one day from the wife "the truck won't run"...I told her she knew where the keys were even though she had never driven it before. Now I find a stack of pillows in the driver's seat often. I guess she liked it. I am glad she drove it because it seems that she is encourageing me to fix it up more. I guess she doesn't like the idea of pulling back the carpet and watching the road pass under the car. Floor pans? What floor pans? Thanks Bubba!
heck, she owns our vette ...... I just have the fun of keeping it running and occasionally getting to drive it ...... is this the way this is supposed to work .........Robert
