My fiance wants to learn to drive a 4-speed but I've convinced her that the clutch is "just to hard to push." I also threw in an "I love you too much to let anything bad happen to you." That showed her I was more concerned about her than the car.... I think she almost believed me!!!
Of the 5 vettes I have owned my wife has only driven one, a 75 4 speed. She came back from one trip, without me, complaining that her hand hurt from shifting. She was tired of lifting the T handle every time she shifted. That's the last time she has driven a vette.
Chumpzilla, LOL, I agree. I thought my wife was short at 5', but apparently she would be known as "Big Guy" on this forum. She loves to drive the Vette, probably because it has PS, PB and A/C. I didn't think she would like it, but now she wants to drive it all the time - even to work in downtown Austin. I'm glad she likes it though - makes it easier to spend money on it.
Never driven the Vette. Drove my 69 Camaro once that I used to have. She said it does not have any power. She was starting off in 3rd gear! She has no interest in cars. She has only riden in it twice in 8 years.
Gordon, That is so funny, my wife did the same thing in my 68 Camaro, it has a hurst shifter and she was so nervous about putting it in reverse she always started it in third. It was a really old hurst so it didn't have the reverse lockout.
BTW, that Weiand intake off of your 69 Camaro is now on my 68 Camaro. That's honestly probably the best damn intake I've ever had.
You kiddin' me? My wife was actually disappointed that our car WASN'T a stick shift when we bought it. She'll smoke the tires on it at the drop of a hat, too. And here's the COOL part.....she doesn't mind when money is spent on the Vette, cuz she likes to drive it too. But she likes her 2002 Lincoln LS-V8 better, I think.
My wife doesn't like to drive the 82. She says " I feel like I have a Bulls Eye on the back of the car". She gets overly nervous something bad my happen when she drives it. That is why she has a C4 conv. of her own to cruise with and use of the yellow 93 when she wants to get racy!
I wouldn't mind if my wife drove my vette, she loves the car almost as much as I do. But she's too scared of if; probably scared of coming home and telling me she wrecked it since she can't see over the hood.
Only once, a long time ago, and has no interest in doing so again. She loved the C4 vert I had and recently drove a friend's C5 vert (and now really wants one - hmmmmm...)
No power steering, no power brakes, no a/c, loud noise but mostly the hot sidepipes. Although she loves the torgue and admies the Vette, she has no interest but much prefers her Honda S2000.
