that was great., Ive recieved many a waves, and not so many from the C-5 owners. (I think there too new to vette ownership?) last week I had a C-1 enter the street beside be and there wasent a car in sight (this is a busy road,in downtown Bakersfield CA.) were both in our convertables and get a red light. The moment was just so unreal?, we started a conversation right then and there. WoW. thought I was in Heaven dreams do come true....... Save the WAVE................

Funny you say that. I have, and plan on keeping, a C5, but want to get either a 78 PC to restore, or a 78 to turn into a PC Clone. I personally think the 78 PC is one of the most beautiful Vettes to ever hit the street.

Oh, and I wave at EVERY Vette I see, regardless of generation. They are all Vettes, after all!!

not just C5's . . .. i was sitting in a (largely empty) parking lot in my '71 one day, when a guy in a 25th anniversary pulls up, nose-to-nose, parks, and walks away without a word or nod. i didn't get it . . .

I get waves from C5s all the time.

Its a toss of the coin whether any other vette owner will wave. I wave and really dont feel hurt if the other guy doesnt. I look at it as a learning lesson for the guy that doesnt wave.

Its their loss if they dont participate in the vette experience IMHO.

...and everyone should either stop crying, or not make such a big issue out of it.

He might have thought the same about you not talking either..lol

I will say this you can't dis c5's bc 1 or 2 hasn't waved at you I have a 95 convertible and I USUALLY get a wave back from a c5. And just about every c4 has always waved back at me but the other day I saw 4 vettes out.....2 c5's (neither waved back), and 2 c3's (neither waved back)....the c3's were both up beside me not at the same time but during that day and when they got up beside me I hung with them to give them a wave and they NEVER WOULD LOOK OVER.

So, I will agree most of the people that don't wave back are in c5's but I still don't single out the c5 generation as not waving back. I owned a 99 c5 before my 95 vert and it was the same way in it a lot of times c3 guys wouldn't even look over or wave back so they're all kinds out there in vettes. Some will look at you liek your're crazy when your waving at them lol.

"The C4s were OK, but they lost the flowing curves that make
the C3s appealing. The C5 brought back subtle features that
hint at it's ancestry."

This sounds exactly like what dave hill said which is total BS the c4 has more corvette traits than a c5 anyday! c5's don't even have rear center gas door lids...it's on the sides lol.....they're huge so when in the past have corvettes been that big on the interior and all? or radios being pulled from the truck lines to put in the c5's..the c5 is generic I owned one and even though it's a very nice car my c4 screams vette more to me than the c5 ever did

I laughed when I saw where dave hill had said that I just don't see the c5 representing corvette over my 95...theres just noway!

For those of you who wave, keep waving. Maybe the rest will catch on.

Can't believe it has taken until page three for this:

Some wave, some don't. I won't lose any sleep over a wave not returned.

New vette owners buy the car to have fun be cool. They dont know about the comradrie. They probably dont know how to change a flat tire. It was the same with the C-4s for a while but the backyard mechanics weed them out and keep the cars running. Those are the guys and gals who wave. It just takes time.
