Default Why C3?

I was just wondering why of all the corvettes you choose to own a C3??? personally I like the look of them over the other generations.....although all vettes are nice.

Looked in the paper one day to see what was in there. Always wanted a corvette, didnt care what year. Saw the 69 for cheap. Went and looked at it, everythign looked fine. So my dad bought it. We were going to fix it up to sell to make some profit. Well the vette grew on me so I ended up trading my 69 mustang to my dad for the vette.

Its mostly looks. But i think there the cheapest to buy. I look at my 77 as a hotrod anyway since it was originally a smog car and many people dislike rubber bumper car. So, my c3 is perfect for me (especially when running well) Only a Dodge Viper or a true European exotic has compareable presence and voluptous lines and sometimes not even then! The C4 coems with a much beter suspension stock but i am not as drawn to the cuopes ( althought i may now get one) I only like the C4 convertibles in that gen. the best ( reminds me of the ferrari 365 Miami Vice Daytonas for some reason) But, I digress, Teh C2 is an awsome car but way way way too expensive even when in a crappy old car state. The C5 is rapidly cheapening and we shall see about them. Funny thing to me about the C5 is, now that its not the latest model i can start to see its,.."age charachter" for lack of a better word starting to come through. A friend just sold his C4 and is looking for a 99 FRC or soo and really likes them despite the fact that he really didnt car for them new !?!?!?
So, i think it may often be economics or just personal tast, obvious answer i think!

I've just always loved the curves and lines of the C3...especially when paired with the chrome bumpers. These cars have stuck with me ever since I was a little kid and I always said that I would eventually get one.

Yeah I definatly agree with ya on the curves.......I don't really care about which bumpers it has thet look great with both chrome and rubber.....I guess they used to be the cheapest vette..... but now I think C4's are a little cheaper as C3 values continue to grow.

In my opinion:

1st Gen: To elusive and dated. $$$
C2: Nice but not sharp enough for me. $$
C4: A step back in style. I believe it's referred to as a "wedge". I agree. $
C5: Never liked that back and I wouldn't have any fun working on it. $$
C6: A step back in style. Pop-up lights are a must. $$$

Conclusion: C3 is the cheapest, hottest, and most easily modifiable Corvette in existance -- again, in my opinion.

Looks, definitely. Plus, I can work on it without fear of frying the computer.

There were 4 C3s on our block in my neighborhood when I was growing up in the sixties/early seventies and rode in all four at one time or another. Guess this is where my "C3" fetish developed-at least that's what my shrink tells me.

I happened to be in the right place at the right time. If it were a 62 or a 67, I would be just as happy. Even the C-5's are growing on me, especially this Z06...

8T1 Bionic Vette just won Best American Sports Car Custom (Peoples Choice) in October 2004 car show.
8T1 Bionic Vette is featured nightly on T.V. in a Verizon Commercial. I get to see it everynight on T.V......Everywhere I drive people ask me if it's the car in the commercial.
8T1 Bionic Vette has me believing I made the correct choice...
C-3 generation
Seems the commercial Ads and movie industry has their eye on this generation
If it ain't Nasty....make it Nasty.
