Can anyone tell me how hard it will be to change the motor mounts in a 1981 coupe? Must I disconnect anything or is there enough "slop" on everything to just jack up the motor enough to slip out the old ones and slip in the new ones? Thanks in advance.
I changed the mounts on my 71 BB recently and it was easy. You want to remove the distributor cap in case the engine tilts back enough to force it into the firewall. Otherwise, just jack the engine up, swap mounts and let it back down. Piece of cake. I lifted the engine under the oilpan with a big piece of wood between the jack and the pan to spread the load.
i put a new poly motor mount in my 82 this year [drivers side ]no ,i did not have to disconnect anything .i did have some trouble getting everything to align back up .not hard just took time.
