Yikes!...apartment complex is NOT a very safe place to keep a car like that. Not even for a short stay.
It's a heck of a way to get a reality check...but the thieves are everywhere and all the alarms in the world won't really help if they use a flatbed. Glad you had it insured, but I know that's not a lot of compensation for the loss.

I loved that car...I got it two years ago and put alot of time and $ into it. I was finally happy with how it ran...just ironing out a few last mechanical items as winter projects.
I feel for ya, two years ago I had one of my cars stolen right out of my driveway in the middle of the night. I would have felt better if they had stolen it from a parking lot rather than right out of my driveway.

My regrets. I've had cars broken into, but never stolen. Best of luck in getting the car back in good condition (hey, ya never know). Theives are worthless and should be punished in cruel and unusual ways.
