Stolen Last Night
I'm singing off for a while while I sort this out but my 73 Roadster was stolen last night.
I loved that car...I got it two years ago and put alot of time and $ into it. I was finally happy with how it ran...just ironing out a few last mechanical items as winter projects.
I would love to get it back but fear it has already been parted out.
The police said they have about 10 cars a year stolen from my area and were surprised with this one...They loved the car...When I made the police report the officer immediatley recognized where I was and waht car I was calling about...when he arrived, he mentioned that the other officers really liked the car and kept an eye on it during their patrols.
The rat b@$t@rd$ got the complete set...This week I put the hard top on it because it was going into storage next week for the winter.

Sorry about your misfortune. I hope you find it unharmed.
I had a vehicle stolen(not a vette) and the whole experience upset me.... The insurance company was the worst to deal with.

i think car craft just had an article about the the top ten stolen cars and the c-3 was number 1........... sorry to hear about your misfortune hope it is recovered soon and in one piece.

I am really sorry to hear that. My truck was broken into last summer and it has never been the same to me since. Even thought they never got it started the truck feels different to me. Violated???? LOL

Whoa. Whereabouts are you in Chicago? I was thinking about getting an alarm for mine. Did you have one or do you think it would have made a difference (or do you think maybe Lojack would have been even better)?

My '68 was stolen and stripped this spring. It was in storage and happended just ONE day before I was to pick it up.
I know EXACTLY how you feel.
I was NOT insured (since I hadn't even taken posession yet). Are you? Keep on the cops. Don't nag, but keep them to task. I got the car and my engine back, but that's it. Have about 15K worth of parts still missing. They did catch the guy. He plead guilty and sentencing is in two weeks. It's a nightmare. I've taken the opportunity to make some improvements, though. Trying to make a silver lining...

Where was the car when it was stolen? Have a kill switch or hard to defeat alarm on it? I hope it wasn't out in a parking lot or on the street. I wouldn't even consider owning one of these cars without having some kind of secure locked storage on my own property. At least then i could make sure they couldn't get it without using some kinda saw to get in..
