Norm, got mine displayed right on the front window.
I think they're just jerking you around! Most of the time, people don't have names/logos copyrighted. That costs money and is a pain to do! They usually just stick a TM on it then threaten to sue if they find someone using the same letters/logo. That usually stops people from "infringing"! Don't let them get away with it!
Anyway, where can I get the mirror print and decal?
So, anyone who has bought any stickers and/T-shirts, show and wear them proud. Ecpecially at the NCRS meets, Bloomington Gold, & Carlisle.
---------I DID------- I WORE THE SHIRT AT BLOOMINGTON THIS SUMMER!!!(ALSO HAD THE DECAL ON MY WINDSHIELD PARKED ''ON THE LAWN""
[IMG][/IMG] Just recieved a 2 page letter from National Corvette Restorers Society's attorneys claiming my infringement of NCRS' rights and plagiarism of their logo.
An infringement must be dealt with otherwise an organization looses their rights to a trademark, name or logo. You've infringed and they are exercising their right. I'm one of those stuffy members (the non stuffy type) but equally entertainmed by it all.

I do not see ANY similarities. One logo is round and the other is rectangular. 2 different type fonts for NCRS also explaining what the letters stand for (does the National Corvette Restorers Society own those letters of the alphabet ?? ). The cross flags is a registered trademark of GM. I highly doubt they would bother for two reasons: (1) We are CORVETTE OWNERS (2) They have bigger things to spend attorney fees on.
Their attorneys do NOT scare me one bit (can't get water out of a rock ). Those stuffy "Restorers Society" people need to loosen their ties and/or get a life.

'Parody' (satire) is a WELL-protected right under the First Amendment- and has been upheld a kajillion times in court.
Tell 'em where to put it, IMHO. They know they're full of sh*t- they're just trying to spook you.
You'd think that these guys would have better-things to do with their time.....
like check the inside of tail-light lenses for particles of dust.

Norm:
which organization do you think Big E, or even Duntov would belong-to, 'our' NCRS, or 'their' NCRS?
My girl-friend and I wore 'our' NCRS T-shirts to several Corvette-functions this summer:
while it many Corvette-owners were 'aghast' at it, the dudes with lumpy-idle cams, hood-scoops, and wide tires just smiled and nodded.

Better-yet, a hooded-sweatshirt, in Canary Yellow (!), so us guys 'up-North' can bother their attorneys who have their Corvette in-storage for the Winter!
If I had the technology/know-how to post the letter I would so everyone can see who the attorneys are and then everyone can write them back telling them how we feel.
