First NEW car was a 1980 Pinto Station Wagon 2.3L 4 spd. What a race car. Oh Baby. Would still be driving it if some dork didn't make a left in front of me in 3/2000. Just got the insurance settlement... 5 years later.

Pinto Station Wagon... what a rush.

First car I ever purchased all on my own... 1973 Corvette.

I've got 3 cars around here that i can sell and get a decent downpayment. I'm thinkin i'll get a year old imprezza sti, can't argue with 300hp and awd. They go for about 23k slightly used. Yes, its a ricer car, but I can't afford to drive the vette every day. The sti should keep me pleanty happy in the driver's seat. Plus the clutch is about as stiff as the one in the vette, so it won't be hard to switch back and forth.

First car was a '73 Barracuda, 318 auto.

First new car was an '81 Camaro that I ordered from Davidson Chevrolet in Malden, MA. I ordered all the cosmetic goodies and got it with the V6 auto. That got boring, so I sold it in '85 in order to get the Vette.

First car was a 70 Camaro that came home in a bucket. Spent two years building that car. Wish I still had it. The first new car was an 84 Toyota Celica 5 speed. Fun car. Drove it 65K and all I did was change the oil. Never even cracked a lug nut. That car just ran.

OK, I'll admit it. A 1973 AMC Gremlin X with a Levis Jean interior, a 304cid V8, and a (Chrysler) TorqueFlite transmission. That was our honeymoon car. Did Northern New York (Lake Champlain), Old Orchard Beach (Maine), Cape Breton (Nova Scotia), Cavendish on Prince Edward Island, Quebec City and Ontario. Kinky car but never missed a beat!

My first car was a 1971 Cuda. It had the 340 ci. with the factory original Hurst pistol grip shifter. Lots and lots of fun at 16 years old.
My first new car was a 1987 Cavalier. No fun at 25 years old.

First new car (and first car) was a 1988 Firebird 5.0...it lasted two whole months. An 80 year old guy ran a red light at 50 mph and t-boned me on the passenger side. I walked away without a scratch but that car took one hell of a hit.
