Old school?

Wow these were great looking rims and I would only have to raise my car up about 2 feet to make them fit. NOT
, I like the ones that came on the car, the only change that I would even consider would be to have them chromed. By the way, were chrome wheels a factory option?

I think that there are several reasons people keep the stock wheels.
1. They can't afford aftermarket units.
2. They don't want to get up from watching the billiards tourney on TV
to take the car to Discount Tire.
3. The wife told them they can't have those new TTII's.
4. If they did get new, then they'd have to spend an hour each month
keeping them clean.
5. Nice wheels would make the rest of the car look even more shabby.
6. They are afraid the people in the crack house next door would steal
them.
7. They'd feel pressured to buy new tires and the cord still isn't
showing on one of the old ones.
8. There's no place in the living room to store the old ones and still
keep the "theme" alive there.
9. AFS hasn't had their 10-year "half-off-sale" on ZR-1 replicas.
Sorry guys, I just couldn't resist....
....just joking.Larry

Only year and they are a classic!
Wheels are the easiest mod to do without doing anything to the car that can't be reversed.
Everyone can't be the same.
I have stock wheels on one right now, but only because I needed tires for the AFS rims.
I have three complete sets of stock sawblades stored away, one even has the original type tire on them.
I don't belive in too many body mods, but we all have to be different.
There ain't nobody here more old school than me and back in the day and in the present, buying a set of wheels was always among the first things you did to make the car your own.
Well, the saw blades on my 94 look good right now. If I were to install new wheels on my ride, I'd have to put on Cragar SS wheels, the same kind I had on my 1970 AMX back in its day.

They look aggressive and a little mean, as if they could propel off the tire and slash a car riding along side you, a la James Bond.
Seriously, I have kept mine because 1) Everything should remain stock, I am a purist 2) They are pretty nifty looking, probably won't ever see them on another car.
Spokes are everywhere, sawblades are pretty darn unique.

Oh back to my story --- My uncle (wise old car painter/restorer) told me that wheels are about 1/3 of the side view of that car, and that good wheels that complement the car and are clean and sparkling will make or break a car. He is correct... the wheel and tire combo makes a major statement on looks of our cars. I feel it is always important to have the nicest set of wheels that look good on the car. (to me)
That's why I went with the ZR-1 wheels and sold my sawblades to a guy in Hawaii. I traded a Glock27 & $200 for four brand new OEM CE Wheels 9.5" all the way around.

Last, I just don't like any of the aftermarket options and the sawblade wheel to me is what makes a Corvette look like a Corvette.
-- if I could find a set of those I would buy them). At any rate -- long tubes are next (though Iggee seat covers shipped today) -- ON WITH THE "MONKEYING!"

Yours sure looks nice!!

Here's something to ponder about those "sawblade" wheels on our Vettes. Yesterday I received from Helms my owner's manual with video tape. In that tape, which is pretty neat to watch, the narrator states that the design of those wheels is to provide brake cooling, not just to look pretty.
