He said that you wouldnt believe how people had gotten into his car and beat his car to death. I kinda understood, but I didnt see how anyone would buy a Corvette that they had not driven.

BTW thanks for the story.

with the "beating" on a test drive thing. I'll do the beating if a serious buyer wants to "see" what's up with my car. I have no problem with that but no one else is gonna get to beat on my car unless they already bought it.

Oh, and the thing about C4's being the read headed stepchildren of the general....well as a ZR-1 owner I know all about that....and as a registry....we all wear it as a badge of honor!

I love all the generations but my ZR-1 is mine & it's paid for....so I love it the most! I'm quite happy if this is the only vette I'll ever own.

I don't pretend that it is better than an LT any more than a Ferarri 308 owner would say his is better than a 328.

So friends tell me . Do I have it wrong?

No, you're correct. 85's smell and are ugly. Now, the 86'...That's a good looking car!

When I go into the Ferarri forum, not only do I not see the attacks on fellow marques, I see an appreciation for them.

Corvettes are great cars with a great tradition. We should be preserving the chain not chipping at it.

This is probably the best thing said of what I've read(I didn't start at the eginning so I missed a few).

Everyone should read the sticky guidelines at the top of this section. We are here to discuss our favorite cars, not make fun or or insult others.

True, everyday we get another L98 vs LT1 topic, or "how hot is too hot?" The answer is to not jump down these peoples throats for asking questions that have been asked and answered a million times, the answer is to simply state the answer and move on. If you can't say something nice, don't say it at all.

Act as if you mother or grandmother is asking the question and answer the way you would answer them. Then we could all get along.

I couldn't agree more. There have been so many posts that I have read where people asked questions, only to receive snide, snippy, arrogant remarks. Whenever I saw this, I always posted a comment such as, "Why are you attacking this guy? He simply is asking a question?" And then I'd answer his question. If the question is dumb, it may be dumb to you, but not to the person asking it.

I know better but, I have a 95 that is pristine, a 79 thats a driver but needs attention. The 79 is not as easy to drive as the 95 and it has several primer spots on it, but I can pull the t-tops off, cruize with the c4-c5-c6 and still have a great time. When we shotgun up lots of the other owners of c4 c5 c6- vettes want to ride in the 79. What does that tell you? If its a vettte its a vette.
