Do I have it wrong?

Mojo, you just made me think "how many people beat the hell out of a Vette on a test"? I remember going to check out a Vette once, a 76 (didnt really like those much as far as buying) and the owner wouldnt let me drive it. He said that you wouldnt believe how people had gotten into his car and beat his car to death. I kinda understood, but I didnt see how anyone would buy a Corvette that they had not driven.
BTW thanks for the story.

with the "beating" on a test drive thing. I'll do the beating if a serious buyer wants to "see" what's up with my car. I have no problem with that but no one else is gonna get to beat on my car unless they already bought it.
Oh, and the thing about C4's being the read headed stepchildren of the general....well as a ZR-1 owner I know all about that....and as a registry....we all wear it as a badge of honor!
I love all the generations but my ZR-1 is mine & it's paid for....so I love it the most! I'm quite happy if this is the only vette I'll ever own.

It seems to me that not only are C4 Corvettes the least respected of the family, but the early C4s are the least of that least. The early C4s seem to be the only early gen models to get slammed even within their own gen. I really like my 85 and have for 10 years. I don't pretend that it is better than an LT any more than a Ferarri 308 owner would say his is better than a 328.
So friends tell me . Do I have it wrong?

good looking car!

No I don't lie awake thinking of this kind of stuff just to add drama. This was based on some of what I had been reading on the forum. Mind you this was also a sentiment that I got from being in the C5 and C3 sections as well. When I go into the Ferarri forum, not only do I not see the attacks on fellow marques, I see an appreciation for them.
Corvettes are great cars with a great tradition. We should be preserving the chain not chipping at it.

Everyone should read the sticky guidelines at the top of this section. We are here to discuss our favorite cars, not make fun or or insult others.
True, everyday we get another L98 vs LT1 topic, or "how hot is too hot?" The answer is to not jump down these peoples throats for asking questions that have been asked and answered a million times, the answer is to simply state the answer and move on. If you can't say something nice, don't say it at all.
Act as if you mother or grandmother is asking the question and answer the way you would answer them. Then we could all get along.
