Looks great , is this your first time painting a car, That's definitely a job I wouldn't want to tackle myself. Keep the pictures coming as you go.

I painted a few cars back in the 70's. my son wanted to me to paint his truck so I did that a few months ago and it turned out so good I decided to paint the 93. it is really not all that hard. you just have to make sure you have all the saftey equipment, the new paint has some very bad stuff in it.

Default good work

Honestly you did a better job masking/painting than many so called professionals I've had the enormous displeasure of working with. You would not believe how many of the just don't understand why I come unhinged when the gas tank and wheelwell areas get even the slightest overspray. Taking pride in what you do is the biggest part of doing vettes right

looks good ...lots of work to just to get to the point of shooting one of these cars. I've considered a different color, just don't feel like taking everything off to do it....yet

thanks for the compliments, if you noticed I painted the door handles to match the car. I allways thought the door handles being black really sort of broke up the flow

Looks great! My Vette is in the hands of someone who's been painting Vette's for about 20 years, but I still wish I had the know how to have done it myself.
What did you use to strip the old paint?

It was original paint except for the hood so I just wet sanded it with 500 grit paper, epoxy primed it and painted it. the hood I sanded back down to the factory primer.

Looks good. On a scale of 1-10 how hard is painting really? If i ever need to paint a car i don't want to spend $3000 if it's just time consuming but not that hard. Except if you mess up you're kinda screwed right? other then doing it over again.

Are you using 2 part ? color coat clear coat? I hear that is eaiser than 1 part paint with hardners. (never tried the 2 part)
I found 2 things make for a good job and the number one is prep!
number two is don't spray it on to heavy
If you spray enough coats you can wet sand out most defects giving you a great finish
Oh and it looks great

on a scale of 1-10 probably a 7. but if you only want to paint one car it may be better to have it done. the equipment needed is expensive.
good compressor $600, spray guns $650, fresh air supplied resperator $350, booth materials $200, buffer $80. and don't paint your vette first practice on a few other things first.

yes I am using basecoat/clearcoat. it is nice because any defect. for example runs or trash can be sanded out and fixed before you clear it
