they are 100% correct, an all counts that you stated so far. they can add the tpi as well.

any others?

a note on the "cheap" issue: they ned to take into account these cars were $28-$35k when new. so yes, these days a base L98/Lt1 are cheap and damn cheap at that. no argument there. where the argument lies is when their C5/C6 gets older and delves deeper into the big depreciation hit. give 'em 10+ more years and the next guy will be calling their cars "cheap" and they will be right.

IMO they are different cars that all drive differently and were aimed at different markets.

The C4 was a transition from older technology and from the accounts I have read was directed at making the most advanced Corvette possible that could still be called a Corvette. That was the mind set of the designers from the beginning.

The C5 and C6 were and are guided by the market opinion and sales.
C4 sales were lagging, losing ground to the new crop of sports cars available from Japan. What the engineers and designers had to deal with instead of focusing on making the best Corvette possible, is the marketing of a more widely acceptable vehicle that could retake ground in the market among the 300z's, Mitsu 3000GT/Dodge Stealth and the Rx-7's that had gained so much of the available market.

All I know is when I got my C6 in Oct '04 everytime I saw a clean C4 driving down the road I would always think, "I really like that body style"

Are C4's as technologically advanced? Certainly not. As comfortable? probably not. As fast stock? No way in hell.

So we are back to the beginning. Who cares what anyone else thinks. If you like your car and enjoy it that is all that matters. I have put 5,000 miles on my C4 since the second week in November and I enjoy driving it every bit as much as I did my C6.

They are just pissed that they got rid of their C4 when they purchased their new vette.

I have never had issues with any C5 or C6 drivers putting down my C4.

In it's day the C4 was as advanced and successful against the competition as the C6 is now. Remember, the "lowly" TPI was banned from showroom stock racing at Porsches behest because the Vette hadn't lost a race in 3 years! Against the new cars they are old tech. If ya like your C4, ignore the naysayers and enjoy your ride. Some people will appreciate your ride for what it is , some won't. I have the lowest of the low, the L83, I wouldn't trade it for the world! I say: enjoy your car - there wil always be something new/faster:so what!
