There should be a law passed that anyone who voted for that shouldnt be allowed to even bring up politics for at least 8 years. Stay in the corner with a dunce cap on. The adults will handle things from here on out.

I wont let the thread be highjacked any further. Proceed.

Its all up to the owners perception of enjoyment.Everyone here is different. Some like to drive their cars to a five star for steak and lobster, and to show it off, others go to the park for volleyball and a beer to show it off.either way your still enjoying it .Point being on this site and in the "REAL World" we have CEO's on up and students on down, and the rest of us who fall in the middle.Just enjoy the d**n thing your way and stop ripping on others who do it differently. If we were all the same it would get pretty boring around here.

I can understand the sentiment of the original post. However, the owner of z06 could be someone like me. My Vette is my only car. I can't afford two car payments, so I thought, if I can only have one car, why not a Vette? As far as taking care of it, well I change the oil and fluids more often than suggested. I inspect it diligently and replace wearing parts long before they become broken parts.

Right now my car is filthy dirty. It snowed last night and the melt off today is all over it. No sense in washing it because the roads are wet and dirty, plus it's going to snow again tomorrow.

I am happy for those that are so situated that they can drive alternate vehicles in bad weather keeping their Vette's warm and dry in the garage. Perhaps next winter I will be in that position. But please don't judge my passion for the Vette by the way it looks in the dead of winter. I promise you this summer it shine as such that you will not even be able to tell what color it is!

You should be out there washing your car, even though it's going to snow again.
YOU ARE GUILTY OF NEGLECT !!!!
Like all of us from time to time.
It's obvious that you DO NOT ABUSE your car. BIG DIFFERENCE !!!!

Anyone else see such neglect?
When are car like that finally becomes affordable to the average Vette owner like me, It takes LOTS of detailing to bring it back to its original glory. I got mine out of an auction, It was a repo and it was trashed. In my opinion people that treat a machine like that dont even deserve it.

I can't stand by 96 being dirty, but it's black so it's dirty much more often than it's clean. i also don't have a garage and I have a 89 truck that I'm working on so it's been getting a bit more attention lately. Just because the car is filthy doesn't mean the guy doesn't care about the car or how it looks. Don't jump so quick to judge a brother.

Thanks! It was a pretty rough piece before I started. Just an average old neglected 110K miles car with all the usual things wrong bought from the buy-sell corral at a local swap meet. The oil leaks were so bad the entire bottom of the car was dripping wet. Oil was even dripping off the rear axle and mufflers! I guess my thing is seeing if I can make something nice out of something that was rough. Knowledge and valuable experience is gained and the sense of accomplishment felt afterwards is rewarding and you have a good car also as a result.

I love driving my 93 LT1 and take very good care of it. But I live on a desert dirt road nearly a mile from pavement. In spite of frequent washings it always look dusty, and god help me if I wax it, dust sticks to wax like its super glue.

BTW Can you imagine gramps giving a State Of the Union speech without half of Congress falling asleep?

Lets see here: We have a tired old man on the verge of Alzheimer's and a religious nut running for President. Is that the best the Republican Party could muster up ?

Weak sauce.

McCain:
-war hero, endured torture for his country and did not divulge info.
-loves his country and wants to do what he can to make it strong and proud
-works on both sides of the aisle (his record in office shows this)
-experienced in the workings of the government and knows how to cut through to get things done
-is liked by both sides of Congress

Sorry, but Obama has nothing going for him except that he is the wonder child of the liberal media.

He is like a rock star that has nothing but cover songs...but I'm sure he'll do fine defending the country more than someone who has endured torture to protect the interest of his fellow prisoners.

If you can't understand that, then you don't deserve to be a US citizen.

Many newer Corvette owners are not real enthusiasts. These cars are leased as driver is in a mid life crisis stage.Saw one today full of hard bird crap, change laying inside the cup holder etc. Next year it will be returned and maybe a real enthusiasts will get it. Thats why they don't wave back. Their thinking you mistaken them for someone else.

Hard to judge a driver by the outside might of just been on a 2000 mile trip I believe its inside the car and under the hood where you know if its taken care of.

Yeh, I bought my car to drive it as much as I can but I would never use it as a daily driver. It took me 20 years of working to afford the car I always dreamed I would own. Why would I want to drive it into the ground? I enjoy wrenching on it and polishing it and still drive it about 2-3 times a week. I would never think of driving it in the winter around here. It's worth it to me to wait until the sun shines and drive it then. I think I should respect and take care of a car that gives so much pleasure and I worked so hard for.
